Nemo & a Change of Plans

Wow, I am absolutely exhausted. I couldn’t wake up for the gym this morning, but I attribute that to the fact that Joe came home from work at 10:30pm when I was half asleep and I ended up staying awake later than planned. I wanted to get a workout in today because I knew tomorrow was going to be a busy day, but my plans changed when this happened.

I had my bags packed and planned to drive directly to my Mom’s after work, but with Nemo is full force, it wasn’t happening. My cousin’s baby shower is tomorrow and I haven’t seen my Mom in a while, but unfortunately I couldn’t chance the 2 hour drive home. We were let out of work early and it still took me double the time it normally does to get home. The good news is, I got a manicure in on my lunch break.

I had a dark purple picked out, but the manicurist insisted I get a Valentine’s Day color. Sure, why not!? Joe and I are going on an overnight trip Sunday night, which I guess is sort of our Valentine’s Day gift to each other. We usually take this trip every year in January, but we were a little late this year.

I hadn’t eaten my lunch yet so I was extra grumpy while driving home in the snow. Famished and crawling in traffic in the snow…miserable.

As soon as I got home I chopped up turnips to roast for “fries” and heated up an adzuki bean burger.

Jessica’s avocado basil cream was a delicious addition.

All together and oozing.

Is it weird that I actually hoped there was more snow in our driveway? For some reason, the snow was way worse by my office and when I pulled into our town, it was basically just a small layer of slush. I wanted a workout! I guess I’ll get one tomorrow morning when we’re shoveling out of a foot of snow!

Speaking of snow, I think it’s time for a glass of wine. ;]

I actually had fun shoveling our driveway yesterday when the storm was in the midwest. My parents came home so I then went inside but wish I had continued shoveling the sidewalk to keep it going.
