This morning was a little off from what I had planned, but I went with the flow. Joe had to attend his friend’s grandmother’s funeral, which was an hour earlier than he thought so our gym plans went out the window when we woke up too late.
I was also expecting the cable guy to come. Our last bill was almost $200 and I refuse to pay that much. It includes cable, internet, and phone, but seriously? I called and had the cable switched out of Joe’s name and into my name so we could get the new promo price, so they had to come and switch out all the boxes. Lucky for us, the new boxes are sleeker, the channel guide is a lot better, the picture is more crisp, the internet is faster, and we are paying a lot less. Win.
It took him a while to get everything working, so it kind of wasted a bit of my morning, but I’m just happy we were able to make that little switcheroo without any questions. Right after he left, Joe and I went to return the old boxes and drop a return package off at Fedex. By this time, I was starving! I had one thing on my mind: Pancakes. Mind you, it was 1:00pm.
With a few simple ingredients, I made a delicious batch of them.
I told you guys I found Kodiak Cakes on sale at Target last week. I’d normally prefer to make my own but the ingredient list is pretty good and I was in a hurry (like, I’m so hungry I’m going to eat this box of chocolate from Joe’s birthday if I don’t make something else right now hurry).
In less than 5 minutes, I had 3 warm pancakes in front of my face. I drizzled on maple syrup and cut up half a banana to garnish.
In just the same amount of time, they were gone.
And it was all washed down with an ACV cocktail; apple cider vinegar, stevia, lemon, cinnamon, and water.
I just noticed how my phone matches the place setting….sort of. I actually wouldn’t mind that print on my phone, but it’s actually Paisley Meets Plaid from Vera Bradley. My Mom bought me a new set of travel items for Christmas and a few days later I found a deal on Groupon for the same print on an iPhone cover. It was only $6.00 after shipping with some Groupon bucks I had to use, so it was a no brainer.
Well, I’m off to finish my Saturday chores: laundry, mild cleaning, and some food prep for the week.
- What’s on your phone cover? I used to have sprinkles on mine, but I liked this cover so I figured I’d change it up for a bit.

I looked for a sprinkles cover for my Android, but I couldn’t find one anywhere online! Mine is “Keep Calm and Eat Cupcakes.” – almost as good!
Love the Kodiak cakes. I hardly ever make my own batter anymore since discovering the beauty and eas with the Kodiak mix. Happy Saturday love!
I think I’m the only person on the planet that doesn’t like pancakes… I don’t know what’s wrong with me! But french toast is my favorite. I love that Vera Bradley phone case!! I’ve been thinking about getting one for myself.
I adore that iphone colour. Mine is so boring, I should look into getting a new one. I also need to find kodiak cakes. I’m guessing Canada just can’t keep up with that cool trend yet. Hopefully one day!
Do a lot of companies not ship to Canada? Is it expensive to have things shipped to you? Just curious!
Some companies do, but it really depends! It’s so odd. It’s not too expensive, I’m not too sure actually how much! Ha.
