My Target Saga

target

Yea, I mean we could just the end post right here. But I feel compelled to tell you my story, assuming that most of you probably hate love Target as much as I do.

The story starts last weekend when I bought this shirt.

It was on super sale. I couldn’t pass it up, but I was indecisive on size. A few days later, I went to the Target that is literally a stone throw away from my work (yeah I know, #fml), for something else, and ended up buying it in the bigger size. I tried them both on, trying to decide what size to keep and ended up deciding that I didn’t even want the darn shirt at all. I mean, I’m not really a sequin type of gal. I’d rather wear lace or silk. It was an impulse purchase because it was like 75% off.

Anyway, I stopped at Target again (a third location) on the way home from work yesterday to return both. Turns out, one of the receipts had a return date of 1/5/13 and the other 1/15/13. Originally, the full priced top was supposed to be returned by 1/5, which was the day I purchased it for the first time, so I was SOL. She told me I could only get store credit.

Now this is the point where I usually ask for a manager or argue, but I wasn’t about to pretend that I couldn’t find a way to spend $23 at Target. I mean, let’s be real.

I went for milk and hummus; I left with 2 skirts (on sale), milk (check), hummus (check), another hummus, Kodiak Cakes, Wasa Crispbreads, and blackberries.

$51 dollar later (minus $23 from the gift card), I had successfully given in, again. Target – 4729, Jill – 0.

Anyway, who could pass up these delicious sounding hummus options?

I dug into the white bean as soon as I got home and topped a Wasa cracker. Courtney had posted about these and when I walked by them on sale (of course they were on sale) at Target, I couldn’t resist.

Target is unbelievable. It’s like, 10 steps up from Walmart and just somehow always gets me. Especially since they incorporated groceries. You all know how I love the grocery store (loser alert).

The saga may not be over. We’ll see if I end up wearing one of those skirts to work this week. If not, I might have to edit this post.

P.S. Happy Birthday to my love, Joe. ;)

I have just become a Wasa fan, too. Target is one of my favorite places, but it is dangerous! Happy Birthday, Joe!

Target is the death of my bank account. I almost bought that shirt too but decided that the blue and cream wasn’t my color.

Happy Birthday to Joe!

Cuuute top.
Oh man, I have been to Target at LEAST 4 times in the past two weeks, for both purchases and returns (and of course on the trip for returns, I always end up spending what I just returned, plus some.)

Target is finally moving up into Canada, and I’m afraid that this is going to happen to me on a regular basis.

Happy birthday Joe!

I went into Target the other day for a prescription. BAD IDEA! Don’t ever get your prescriptions filled at Target. During the 20 minute wait, I somehow ended up spending $120. And that’s without the medicine. :(

This made me laugh! :) I dont’ think I’ve ever walked out of Target empty-handed. I went in just to use the bathroom once and walked out with candles, a new magazine and a Starbucks coffee. Ugh.

Haha, I love how you didn’t fight the return because you knew it didn’t matter. Target is the worst!! I’m so glad that the closest one to me is 15 minutes away and not near anything I go to. That’s just far enough away where I only go if I REALLY need something. I would be screwed if I were you, haha.

Jill- the one in jersey city kills me! It’s on the way home from EVERYWHERE. And it has everything you need and don’t need all in the same place. It’s like trying to not eat any homemade christmas cookies. Forget it! :)

The thing about target is that they always have the most random things on sale. I find something on sale but not on super sale and I still feel the urge to buy it. Why!? Because I’m saving 26 cents on something I never knew I needed so badly!

& I bought that black striped skirt on sale to wear out for NYE!
