Well, one thing is for sure after all of the breaks I’ve taken on this blog, I will never be a post-a-day blogger. I don’t always have something to blog about, combined with the fact that my schedule is so unpredictable that I can’t guarantee I’ll always have time to post. I’ve been spending most of my free time with these guys…
..and Christmas shopping, taking up almost every offer to go out as I possibly can, putting time into my job, travelling, and relaxing.
That being said, I do have a lot to talk about right now, so pull up a chair.
One thing that I have been holding off on telling you is that I started a new job. Basically, I thought you were all going to think I was crazy (as some people definitely did) that I just started as a trainer in August and already found a new job. Turns out, I wanted to be in the fitness industry, but not as a personal trainer. An opportunity came up at the end of November that was sort of at the perfect time and was something I couldn’t pass up. I am now a training and education coordinator for a high end fitness equipment company. Basically, I manage the online education for employees and customers and I coordinate our relationship with a large personal training association. I also assist with our community website and social media. I will say that the job is definitely made for someone with a training background and that I don’t feel my time studying was wasted. Yes, I am back to the Monday to Friday 8:30-5:30 grind at a desk and I couldn’t be happier.
The company has so many exciting things going on and I feel blessed to have been given this opportunity. It combines everything I want in a job in this industry. We even have a gym in the office – oh, and I can be on the internet while working out.
Cool, right? Some of you may have noticed that I was in New Orleans at the end of November. Well, that was actually for a trade show. I’ll be going to some of the larger trade shows to assist the trainers and sales team.
And take full advantage of the area that we travel to, of course! My new team on Bourbon Street.
I also got to meet Joyce, who is so sweet!
I’ve taken this opportunity to really adjust my attitude. I’ve always let things stress me out easily and I move so quickly that I get impatient easily. I’ve really slowed everything down. Everyday, I try to focus on the now instead of the future and my five page long to do list. Everything will get done eventually and it does not need to be done this very second. I am more positive towards life and I feel that it has returned the favor on me.
Minus the fact that my grandfather isn’t doing well and will most likely not be spending Christmas with us.
He was finally moved into a nursing home after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He wasn’t able to stay in assisted living anymore because he just needs too much care. My grandfather raised me like his own daughter and I could not even begin to explain how caring of a man he is. Even after having a bad fall and being in the hospital, he woke up every few minutes to ask my mom how she was, how I was, and how my Uncle’s were. We are all going to see him after Christmas dinner!
In the midst of all of this, I’ve been really trying to enjoy Christmas a lot more this year. To lessen the stress a bit, I did almost all of my shopping online. One thing I truly dislike, is trying to battle the crowds during this time of year. Traffic, finding parking, and crowds all make me super agitated, so I figured I’d save myself the trouble and order online.
Almost every night after work, I sit by the tree and try to genuinely enjoy the holiday season.
We decorated it way back in the first week of December, with the help of Gus.
I’ve also been listening to Christmas music every chance I get.
And being very thankful for the wonderful companies who thought of me this season!
Chobani sent me a butt load of greek yogurt, which means I need to get cooking!
Rebecca from Lady Foot Locker, who is so incredibly sweet, sent me an awesome Actra hoodie and capris.
I’ve also done some baking. Well, you don’t really bake Oreo truffles but you know what I mean. There is a party at Joe’s restaurant tonight and they requested 100 truffles, so I made them!
Cookie baking for our families will happen tonight, along with present wrapping. See all of those bags in front of me in the picture above? Yep, that times 3 needs to be wrapped.
I don’t know when I’ll post again, so I truly hope all of you have a wonderful Holiday!
