Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to attend an event with Chobani and Lashinda Demus at Physique 57. Lashinda is a 2012 London Olympic silver medalist in the 400-meter hurdles.
First, we all met in the lobby of Physique 57 in SOHO.
I heard another class going on which got me really excited. I’ve tried bar method classes before but never P57, which I’d heard so many good things about.
Eventually, we headed into the workout room.
We met our instructor, Alex, and heard a few words from Lindsay from Chobani.
Shortly after, we got our butts kicked!
It was a 60 minute total body workout intended to work muscles to fatigue. Most of us agreed that there were points that we wanted to give up, but Alex pushed us to keep going! Every muscle in my body was on fire at some point. She was such a great instructor and I highly recommend taking a class with Alex if you are ever at this location.
Afterwards, we sat down and heard Lashinda’s story about growing up, beginning a family, and making it to the Olympics. She is truly inspiring!
Lashinda explained how it is important to replenish 45-60 minutes after a workout. That time approached quite quickly and we all headed over to the Chobani SOHO store for some fuel!
Some of you may remember when I attended the Chobani SOHO tasting a few months ago. Well since then, they’ve added two rotating seasonal bowls.
Pumpkin + Walnut (which was freakin’ fantastic!) and Pomegranate + Power are this seasons specialties. I tried about 3 different flavor combinations when they brought out samples.
After a lot of contemplation and sampling the sweeter ones, I went with the cucumber and olive oil sans pita chips. I forgot to snap a picture, but you can see it on my previous CHO SOHO tasting!
We were all surprised when we found out that Lashinda was going to let us see her silver medal!
How crazy is that!? That thing is so heavy!
It was nice to catch up with a few blogger friends, enjoy a booty burning workout, and indulge in some delicious CHO.
Chobani was also so kind as to leave us with a few gifts. We walked out with a Chobani Nike Dri-fit tee (like the one Lashinda and the Chobani ladies are wearing in the picture below), a Chobani gym bag, and a Chobani water bottle.
