Thanksgiving 2012

I hope that you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving with family and friends! I know I did!

I left off yesterday right before my Mom and I left to go to my Aunt and Uncle’s for the day. It takes about an hour to get there, but it’s such a pretty drive! I am used to New Jersey and New York scenery which is way different than here.

Ever since I was little I remember passing the “house on a mountain”. I always wondered what the driveway would be like to a house like that.

We arrived around 12:30 and were instructed by my cousin Patricia to find the hint in the house of what gender her twins will be. We just found out a few weeks ago that she is expecting!

Two blue balls! My Uncle spotted them! I wrote about this Turkey last year – my younger cousins Emily made it when she was little and it’s been with us every Thanksgiving since!

Congrats Patricia! You and Ty are going to be great parents! Smile

We started the day off like we always do, with appetizers and wine! Excuse the iPhone photos.

Meanwhile, my Uncle sliced the turkey.

The pups hung out all day too.

Our places were all set and by 2pm we were sitting down to dinner linner.

Obviously dessert came next.

Of which I had a piece of both apple and pumpkin pie.

Followed by a celebration of the next holiday to come. Christmas ale!

I love Thanksgiving because it’s truly about family and being thankful for everything you have. Sometimes on Christmas, we’re too busy worrying about gifts to enjoy it.

Be careful if you are Black Friday shopping. I’m not participating! Smile

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I have never done Black Friday shopping. The crowds and lines would make mr crazy!

The only Black Friday participation I did was serve coffee and I would rather have not participated in that either. ;) (Can you tell I’m ready to start training?)

What a great Thanksgiving! We’re continuing the festivities at my aunt’s today for what else but a fish fry (??) haha. Who knows, but it sounds good to me!
That Christmas ale sounds delish.

I’m jealous! I wish we had two family meals – I just make my own leftovers the next day, lol..

I love the pine cone turkey! There are always a couple hanging out on our Thanksgiving table as well. My mom makes them with her third grade class each year, so we have quite the collection now! Congrats to Patricia on her exciting news! xoxo <3
