I really can’t believe the crazy heat waves we’ve been having this summer. I mean, I guess we should have expected it after not having any snow here in the northeast this past winter. The worst part is, it’s going to be 95 degrees today and I am running a 5K at 7:00 tonight.
Eek! I’ll definitely be taking advantage of the 3 water stops along the way. I don’t think I’ll be setting any goals for myself because of the weather and the fact that I’m still feeling off from Oregon. However, whatever time I hit will be a PR because I’ve never run a 5K!
I didn’t workout this morning because of the race. Instead, I prepared a nice little breakfast.
One of the over easy eggs broke in the pan, but the other was perfect dipping style for the flax toast.
I served the eggs with a side of spinach and tomatoes sautéed in garlic, olive oil, and basil. The tomatoes are from Joe’s uncle’s backyard. Nothin’ like Jersey tomatoes!
I also was greeted with a huge envelope this morning, containing something very important.
How exciting! Now I really can’t wait to get started in the field. I need to get it framed sometime this week.
I need to finish some IIN stuff and freelance articles I’ve been procrastinating on. That’s what vacation does to you I guess!
