Crash Wake Up Call

by Jillian on June 12, 2012 · 6 comments

Last night, Joe hung his outfit for today on our tall lamp in the bedroom. At around 5:30 this morning, we woke up to a huge “crash” noise. We were both so confused until we realized that the clothes must have been too heavy and they pulled down the lamp, smashing the light bulb (ironically, right in the garbage can, so no clean up!). After that, it was impossible to get back to sleep. We pretty much laid in bed awake until 6:30 rolled around decided to just get up and get to the gym.

The love-hate relationship I have with running is swaying towards the love side this week. After my 3 miler yesterday, I was feeling a longer run today.

My run looked like this:

  • 2 minute warm up @ 3.5mph
  • 1.5 miles: steady 6.0-6.3mph
  • 2 miles: .25 miles @ 8.0mph with 2 minute rest (6.3mph) in between, repeat 4x
  • .5 mile: 6.5mph
  • 1 mile: 7.0mph

After I hit 5 miles, I walked at 3.0mph for about 5 minutes to cool down.

I was famished when I got home so my smoothie went un-photographed, but breakfast number two, 2 hours later, was even better!

In a bowl, I mixed 1/4 cup oats, 1 whole egg, 1/2 scoop SunWarrior protein powder, a few drops of coconut milk, one stevia packet, a dash of cinnamon, baking powder, & blueberries. I cooked the pancake on a non-stick pan on each side for about 2 minutes. Toppings included strawberries muddled with agave nectar and a scoop of almond butter.

Very peanut butter & jelly-ish. Plus, I’ve expressed my love for warm bloobs before.

Well, I’m off to get ready for an event I am working in the city tonight.

You have one day left to enter the Simply Bar giveaway!

What a terrible way to wake up! My BF woke me up choking a few nights ago (on what, I have no idea!). After that, it’s impossible to get back to sleep.

You really need your own cookbook. You have so many fabulous recipe ideas! That looks deelish!! :-)

I made almost the same thing for breakfast – but smeared some peanut butter on there instead. I love that it tastes like a treat but is still healthy!!

That sounds like the worst way ever to wake up in the morning haha. I wish I liked running, just not my thing. I love warm strawberries, but am not much of a warm blueberry fan for some reason
