This morning I ran the most miles I’ve ever run outside. I’ve been a dreadmill runner for a while now and I am loving the more scenic options outdoors. I forced myself out of bed at 7am to get in some coffee and a quick peanut butter & banana on a brown rice cake breakfast. It was a chilly 41 degrees, but sunny, this morning. I geared up appropriately.
Put on my Brooks….
And set out to run, not knowing I would hit 6 miles!
My average pace was 8:49 with splits looking like this:
- Mile 1: 8:51
- Mile 2: 8:42
- Mile 3: 8:41
- Mile 4: 8:49
- Mile 5: 8:57
- Mile 6: 8:54
Not too shabby!
Breakfast was a quick shake blended with almond milk, frozen banana, flax meal, vanilla protein powder, spinach, honey, & two monster strawberries.

I am jealous of your splits! I’m in between an 11 and 12 minute mile right now!
That’s great! It took me a while to work up to where I am at now. Keep working at it — but also don’t push yourself too hard!
