Wow, so I don’t even remember what I did this past week. I guess that’s why blogging every day is a good thing. Here goes my best shot at trying to recap an entire week in one post. In list form, duh. Hey, sometimes a girl just needs a break!
1. Last Tuesday, I posted my blog birthday giveaway. I said that I’d announce the winner on Monday April 9th! Well, looks like it’s about that time!
Congrats Paige!
E-mail me (sprinklemassacre@gmail.com) your mailing address and I’ll get that $25 Netrition.com gift card to you ASAP!
2. I worked all day Tuesday and came home to start packing for Wednesday’s adventure. I went to the wine show in Atlantic City last year, too!
3. Wednesday, I woke up, ran 4 miles, and headed to AC with 3 other girls from work. Basically we ate and drank for 24 hours straight. Oh, and tasted wines for work, of course!
we stayed at Harrah’s / wine show was at Borgata from 3-8
Chris Manzo (real housewives of NJ, anyone?) was working the Levendi booth, why? / Kelly and I
Carrie, Kelly, Lindsay, and I / some guy creeping on Kelly
Gypsy tequila bar, so many choices / but we chose… don’t worry, we chose
last drinks of the night at Fornaletto dinner (rose bubbly & special sangria) / first drinks of Thursday morning (a bloody mary with a.. ham sandwich?, mini pickle, olive, & lemon)
Oh, and I won $155 on roulette at 12 noon. It was awesome.
4. Thursday…Thursday? Oh, Carrie and I ended up going to the restaurant to meet Joe, have some more drinks, and have lunch/dinner/snacks? It was totally not necessary after the wine show escapades, but it sure was fun! No gym was happening.
5. Friday, I had to work the lunch shift because someone quit. Surprise. I ended up not having to work dinner, so I came home, went to gym for a leg workout, and tried to relax and catch up on life. Some eats over the weekend included:
pan seared swordfish, roasted tomatoes, brussels sprouts, chips, salsa, & avocado / garlic chicken sausage with black beans, peppers, onions, and spinach with a side of homemade baba ganoush and chips
I also thought of a great idea for that last little but of honey that doesn’t come out of the container!
Add water (there was a lot more, I just used it all!), shake, and squirt it in smoothies for extra sweetness!
6. Saturday, I woke up and thought my legs were going to snap in half if I moved one inch. I guess one legged dead lifts from Friday really surprised my muscles. Honestly, I’ve never felt such painful DOMS in my life. Anyway, I made it to the gym with Joe to do an upper body workout. It was a “first and last” workout. It was all done with dumb bells or bodyweight. For example:
- single arm bent over rows
- shoulder raises (front & lateral alternating)
- pushups
- single arm bentover rows
repeat 3x total, rest only 10 seconds in between each set
- shoulder raises (front & lateral alternating)
- single arm bent over rows
- pushups
- dumb bell shoulder press
repeat 3x total, rest only 10 seconds in between each set
- pushups
- bent over lateral raise
- dumb bell shoulder press
- pushups
repeat 3x total, rest only 10 seconds in between each set
Basically, you start with either chest, shoulders, or back, and end with it. Then, you switch up the next circuit to a different body part. You don’t rest in between exercises, only between each set, 9 sets total. I had at least 2 different exercises for each body part, except chest, I just did pushups. You can really play around with this!
I worked Saturday night and got cut because it was super slow due to the holiday. After work, I went to Joe’s other restaurant that I don’t really talk about it. It’s closing for renovations and Saturday was the last day it was open, so all of the employees from all the restaurants came and Joe had an open bar. It was fun to celebrate a long awaited closing!
7. And finally Sunday…..Easter!
honey nut cheerio – new brunch appetizer at the restaurant (donut dipped in honey and topped with peanuts and almond milk) / egg & peep cupcakes + sprinkle cookies from my favorite local bakery
I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed holiday! If you don’t celebrate, I hope you enjoyed your weekend!
Off to do Monday things! AKA my day off!
- laundry
- clean
- study
- grocery shop
- other random errands
- gym….eh, we’ll see – my legs still hurt!
Props if you actually read this whole post!

bb went to Atlantic City last weekend. I didn’t go. I’ve never been!
I really want to come out to Joe’s restaurant still before I leave – and now even more for that “cheerio.” Haha. So creative!
And single leg dead lifts always kill my hams! No matter how much I do them – I never get “used” to them. That is why it has been my fav leg exercise for such a while.
PS > Want to come do my laundry too?? I have some chores to do after work today too. Bc it was Easter I did not do my typical sunday chores yesterday. Blaaah.
Have a good day : )! Ohhh and I got your sauce. Package coming!
I love having Mondays off for that reason! I can enjoy my Sunday off and not do anything, lol. Let me know if some Sunday before you leave works for you – you can come to Hoboken and we can grab brunch!
LOVE AC!!! This makes me want to plan a weekend trip there ASAp! You in?
Enjoy your day off hun.
Yes! How fun would that be to plan a blogger trip to AC?!
Sounds like a busy, but good week!
I’ve never been to Atlantic City, I want to go so bad though! It looks like a blast! Enjoy the day off today!
Yay! Excited I won the giveaway
Thanks, Jillian!
