Another weekend recap coming up. I could probably sit down and post on Saturday or Sunday, but then what would I have to write about on Monday, right?
Friday, I ended up not having to go to work because there were too many people on for the amount of reservations. I was really happy about this because a girls night had been planned that I thought I wasn’t going to be able to attend. I painted my nails first, though! Newspaper nails!
How do you like my dry, cracked cuticles?
There were 7 of us that went to eat at a new BYOB pizzeria in Hoboken called Johnny Pepperoni’s. We brought about 5 bottle of wine and ordered a few pizzas and appetizers. It was great to catch up with everyone since I’ve been working most weekends with the new job.
Some eats from the weekend included a black bean, gouda cheese, avocado, tomato, and spinach quesadilla and a black bean, avocado, tomato, and hummus wrap. Repetitive much? I don’t care, they were yummy! Also, some snackage: apple and nut butter party.
Saturday consisted of work, being cut early, and going to Joe’s other restaurant with my manager for some wine.
Sunday, we celebrated Easter. Yep. Joe’s sisters are both going to Florida with their families next week, so they are gone for the holiday. His mom cooked Easter dinner this Sunday instead. We enjoyed homemade manicotti, gnocchi, meatballs, ham, Easter bread, and lots of wine!
And Monday, here we are again! I’ve already eaten breakfast (oops, ate one before photo!),
got in a workout,
made a post workout smoothie made with banana, honey, and a new almond coconut milk find,
did 3 loads of laundry & changed the sheets, got a pedicure,
cleaned and grocery shopped.
I still need to study and pack for a little overnight trip on Wednesday, since I have work all day tomorrow. More on that when I return!
Lately, I’ve been thinking about the path ahead. Back in September, I announced that I’d be studying to become a personal trainer. Then, in October, I decided to begin the Institute for Integrative Nutrition one year certificate. My next big move was leaving my full time job and devoting more time to studying.
Here we are in April, the month that I’d set my mental goal for taking my personal training test. I finished the large resource book on Friday. But now, I still have a study guide and quick reference book to read through. I’m still completing the IIN lectures every week as planned, but I still don’t know what my next step will be.
I had a phone call with my assigned health coach last week and came to a conclusion about my situation. I needed to realize this instead of feeling like I am holding myself back. I don’t want to be rushed and I don’t want to feel like I have to make any moves immediately. I’ve had enough change in the last year, I want to take things day by day and not force myself to have some grandiose plan because that is what I think I "should" be doing.
I know I will figure it out. I am lucky that I am in a situation where I am able to work part time for Joe, study, and really take time to think about what the future will hold for me. Health coaching, personal training, helping out with Joe’s restaurants… I kind of want to do it all! I also have a while to go before I have clients to actually make the first two meaningful.
That being said, tomorrow marks a special anniversary. One that helped me get to where I am today. Look out for tomorrows post! Happy Monday (again) folks!
