We Have a Goner

Let me tell you a little story over some coffee this morning….

We had an unfortunate loss on Wednesday, which explains me being missing yesterday. After work, I went downstairs to grab my bag and jacket. I remembered that I needed to grab some paperwork from the office to do some of the invoices and receipts from home. There was a ton of stuff ready for me to take, so in my hands I had my bag, my coat, a ton of papers in which I was looking for a bag to carry, and my cell phone. Of course, of all things to accidently drop, my iPhone decided to be the one to go. All I heard was “SMACK” on the concrete floor. It landed flat on the front side, like a belly flop.

I started freaking out and cursing, naturally. I mean, there were chards of glass (or whatever the hell that screen is made of) coming off on my fingers as I attempted to type, followed by a “no sim card” error every other second.

Thursday morning was spent trying to find the ATT store that, coincidentally, the GPS on my iPhone gave me wrong directions to, and then waiting 45 minutes while 2 rude people cut me in line. Finally, $200 later, I got my 16GB white iPhone.

I put the same case on it that I had, but obviously butter fingers needs something a little more protecting than that. I’ll get to it eventually, hopefully before I have another accident. I never bought insurance for my iPhone because I’ve literally had an iPhone since the day it came out and they’ve never offered me insurance, until yesterday. At that point, I wasn’t about to spend an additional $100 when I’ve only really had 2 accidents in the past 5 years. I’m sure by the time it happens again they’ll be on iPhone 10 and I’ll just want the new one anyway.

Siri is pretty cool though, I must say.

Anyway, after all of that aggravation, I needed a good run! I made it to the gym a little late, but I got it done! I followed the 5-4-3-2-1 treadmill workout, but I changed it up to look like this:

  • 5 minutes @ 6.0
  • 4 minutes @ 6.5
  • 3 minutes @ 7.0
  • 2 minutes @ 7.5
  • 1 minute @ 8.0
  • 5 minutes @ 6.1
  • 4 minutes @ 6.6
  • 3 minutes @ 7.1
  • 2 minutes @ 7.6
  • 1 minute @ 8.1
  • 5 minutes @ 6.2
  • 4 minutes @ 6.7
  • 3 minutes @ 7.2
  • 2 minutes @ 7.7
  • 1 minute @ 8.2
  • 5 minutes @ 6.3
  • 4 minutes @ 6.8
  • 3 minutes @ 7.3
  • 2 minutes @ 7.8
  • 1 minute @ 8.3

I basically increased by .1 every interval (15 minutes). I completed 7 miles with a 5 minute cool down for a total of 65 minutes.

After burning off some steam, I ate a quick lunch before having to head into work again.

With a side of not so yummy crackers and yummus.

This morning started off with a great leg workout and a breakfast treat that I haven’t had in a while: Ashley’s quick bake. Today’s was mixed with shredded unsweetened coconut flakes and coconut butter instead of cinnamon, and then topped with coconut peanut butter and muddled blueberries & agave.

I’m going to do some invoices and receipts and then head into work at 4. I’ll probably be cursing those pieces of paper the whole time, since it’s their fault that I dropped my iPhone (riiiiight). It could be worse, I could have my whole front yard dug up because of a leaking water pipe. Sorry Mom! Sad smile I hope it’s fixed ASAP!

ahh, I cracked my phone too!! (St. Patrick’s Day wknd) Except it still works so I have kept using it! I’m starting to get used to the cracked look. I need to go get that taken care of soon.

I couldn’t stand it! It was interfering with reading anything on the phone, too! But when it kept saying no sim card, I knew I had to get a new one!

Now that I have my iphone, I am so afraid that I’m going to drop it. I don’t know what I would do if it broke! Ah, glad you got yours replaced!

Get insurance! It’s $100 for 2 years and it covers 2 accidents!

Yikes, sorry about your phone! I almost want to ruin my blackberry so I can hurry up and get the iphone haha..At least you have a pretty new one now though!

So sorry about your phone! I have butter fingers too, and probably shouldn’t be allowed to hold something so expensive on a regular basis. Fortunately mine’s never broken, but it most definitely has taken its fair share of hard hits. :(

Thanks for letting us know about the insurance option; I think I’ll go buy it next week. (I’m superstitious, so if I don’t, something bad might happen!) :-p

I have HORRIBLE luck w/ phones. A few months ago I actually washed the thing. When placing sheets in the wash, always make sure my phone is not there. haha
