I’m alive! I’ve been quite busy the last few days training at my new job. I haven’t really had time to blog, take pictures, or catch up on my google reader. Luckily, I still got in a few good workouts. Today, was one of them!
I did a total upper body workout by completing the following exercises 3 times with no break before moving onto the next group of exercises.
- 15 single arm dumbbell clean and press (right)
- 15 single arm dumbbell clean and press (left)
~~
- incline dumbell chest press on stability ball
- 20 sit-ups on stability ball
~~
- assisted pull up machine
- plank rows with dumbbell, 10 left, 10 right
~~
-
upright rows
~~
-
cable hammer curls
~~
-
bent-over cable tricep kickbacks
I finished up with 1 mile on the treadmill and 15 minutes on the bike.
Breakfast
I decided last night that I wanted a creamsicle smoothie, being that we have a ton of oranges left. I cut one open as soon as I walked in the door!
Green Creamsicle Smoothie
- 1/2 frozen banana
- a handful of ice
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 scoop vanilla sunwarrior
- 2 babybell oranges
- a few handfuls of spinach
- xanath gum to thicken
Blend and serve! Preferably in a bowl with brown rice crispies.
I only added one orange at first. I think the color was throwing me off and I didn’t feel it tasted citrusy enough, so I added another one!
Now that is a green smoothie!
I am hostessing again tonight at the restaurant. I trained for serving all week, tasted and learned about the wines and scotch, tasted the cheese and charcuterie plates, and did a “kitchen trail” shift where I watched all of the yummy dishes go out of the kitchen. You know I memorized that menu like it was nothing, considering how much I love food! It’s so exciting to learn all about the restaurant industry. We’ll see how it goes when I am actually on my own on the floor. Eek!

I love the idea of adding an orange (or two!) to a smoothie! Creamsicles were one of my favorite ice cream treats when I was young, so I’m definitely going to be trying this soon.
Restaurant training sounds like it was fun! I waited tables at a pretty amazing Spanish tapas restuarant in college, and absolutely loved the fact that I got to sample dishes every shift. Getting paid to eat delicious food? I’ll take it!
Happy weekend, love!
That looks so good! Do you like the Sun warrior protein powder?
I do! I use the vanilla flavor!
