It’s Monday, again! I hope your weekend was wonderful. I definitely felt like unplugging for a bit, so Saturday was spent studying and relaxing, aside from an upper body workout. Yesterday, I went to brunch with a friend and met up with Joe and some other friends to watch the Giants rock the Packers! Although I had lots of yummy food this weekend, the only picture taken yesterday was this one.
It was about 10 degrees, so walking 10 blocks from brunch to the bar where we watched the game wasn’t fun. Kristina tweeted this after she took it stating: “Secret Agent, Code Name: Mushroom”. Do I really look like a mushroom? It’s fine, I love my faux fur scarf. And my fun friends!
Anyway, after lots of heavy food and drinks, the gym wasn’t happening first thing this morning. Joe headed to work and I made myself a nutritious breakfast to negate all the wine, pizza, and cookies from last night. I made pancakes that included cottage cheese and eggs for a protein filled breakfast.
Maple syrup, chia seeds, and crunchy almond butter made for a scrumptious topping. I popped on some banana slices before flipping so there was a surprise underneath.
Now, I am just enjoying some coffee and trying to read up on aperture and shutter speed. That’s right. I get ISO, I get white balance, and I get exposure, but I am still trying to understand the relationship of aperture and shutter. I want to take a photography class since Joe’s Canon Rebel just sits in the office and I use my point and shoot (while the Canon S95 is a great point and shoot, it’s no DSLR). I printed out this cheat sheet that I found on Brittney’s recent post and I intend to carry it with me like it’s my child.
How cute is that?
Okay, I really should be studying. I finished up the extremely difficult muscle and joint chapter in my personal training book on Saturday, and I intend to devote at least one hour per day (more, if time allows), to busting out these chapters and getting things done around here! Ready…GO!

Love, love, love the picture of Secret Agent, Code Name: Mushroom!
That photo is one of my favorites!! I need to print it off and put it on my fridge.
Gorgeous scarf! (And gorgeous girl, might I add)
I need to find something like that for the frigid winter ahead. It hasn’t gotten below the mid-20′s in DC, but today it’s super windy, so it feels like the single digits. Brrr!
Banana pancakes were my *favorite* growing up. I don’t know why I haven’t thought to add them to my protein pancakes recently. That will definitely be happening this week!
Love the photography chart…If it makes you feel any better, I know absolutely nothing about my camera. I just turn on the automatic setting and shoot away! Happy Monday
Thank you! I was excited that it was cold because it was the first time I got to wear my new scarf!
Every time I take Joe’s DSLR, I shoot in auto too, so it does make me feel better!
Shutter speed and aperture are so confusing at first. One day it will just click (pun intended
and everything will all come together and make sense. Basically they both control how much light will affect your exposure but in different ways.
I need to get me a mushroom scarf
I already felt a little “click” (lol) this morning while reading. I think I just need to play around and actually use the settings and test it out so I understand what they do when I change them. Your photography is gorgeous, by the way!
