Hot Yoga First Timer

I’ve been saying that I want to incorporate more yoga into my fitness routine, so I was determined to find a class that fit into my schedule this week. I ended up a finding a studio that offers hot yoga, which I’ve never done before. It’s something I wanted to try but it always made me kind of nervous.

I ended up choosing the 9:30 Bikram class. I walked up to this tiny little studio.

It’s one small little room, and that’s it!

There were about 5 heaters around the room when we started, but being that it was so cold outside, I think they had trouble getting the room up to the right temperature. However, by the middle of the session, I think it was hot enough! It was definitely different than the traditional yoga that I am used to. After 75 minutes, I was sweating! Luckily, the second class is free (after you pay the full price for the first class). So, I’ll be going back next week!

I was famished by the time I got home and needed to use up those pears that were starting to go bad! I made a smoothie by combining one chopped pear, almond milk, cinnamon, and vanilla SunWarrior.

I put it in a bowl like I always do and topped it with Uncle Sam and brown rice crispies.

It was pretty good. Nothing to write home about! I have to get ready for a meeting so I gotta jet! See you guys later!

Oh I loooove Bikram. My studio was usually kept at 110deg. You’d sweat just laying there waiting for class to start!

Yeah, I am hoping next time it is a little warmer! It was 20 degrees out this morning and the studio is as soon as you open the door, so I think it was definitely supposed to be hotter!

Im glad you tried hot yoga! I love hot vinyasa flow yoga, its amazing! Try that sometime too!

The only other hot class they offer is hot power vinyasa yoga, but I’m sure I’ll be trying hot yoga elsewhere in the future! Love working up a sweat!

I really want to try hot yoga, but I have to say – I am intimidated.
