Well, Christmas Eve started out the right way with adult cocktails. Rum Chata is so good. Silk nog is good too, but Joe claims it still bothered his stomach, so Lactaid nog it was.
Joe and I spent the Eve at his parents sans camera. We exchanged our gifts afterwards. I was a little last minute with telling him what I wanted this year, so my “unwrapping” consisted of opening boxes that were delivered the day before Christmas Eve. No complaints here.
I still need to decide which shoes to keep. I’m thinking the nude ones. I’m so indecisive.
Joe picked up something else so I had something to be surprised about.
Spa day, here I come! I got Joe a Tumi laptop bag and Hugo Boss zip ups, of which he returned and is waiting on shoes to be delivered. And I thought I was picky & indecisive? Anyway, we both ended up happy even after my rant about the meaning of Christmas.
Christmas morning we woke up bright and early to head to my Mom’s house. Before everyone got there, we exchanged. I got my Mom a pink Polar heart rate monitor. It syncs with the machines at her gym so I am excited that she likes it!
My mom did awesome this year. We usually don’t go all out on gifts, but Santa was really good to me this year.
Every year, I get a shoe calendar and I always look forward to it.
Necessities! SunWarrior and Starbucks card…
But this year, she got me the ultimate gift.
Score! She even got me the blue magnetic case for it.
Thanks Mom! You bet I am using that thing to death. And even Joe, who refused to buy it for me, has been loving Angry Birds. (I played on my iPhone while Joe and my mom battled Angry Birds.)
Everyone showed up after noon.
My mom’s two brothers and my cousins come over for Christmas Linner (lunch/dinner, I mean, it’s 2pm). Anyway, we usually eat and then exchange gifts.
I got my grandpa a Giant hat.
Clearly, he loved it! My uncles got my mom a gift card to a salon/spa, which she was really excited about. Also, please note her sweater. I bought it for an “ugly Christmas sweater” party last year. I obviously didn’t go ugly enough because she looks completely normal. Note to self: the salvation army is where it’s at. Target, not so much.
Emmitt slept through most of the gift exchange.
I know, my Christmas recap was a little late. I can’t believe it’s already almost 2012! I am still in a food coma and having lots of leftover cookies in the house isn’t helping. I hope you all enjoyed the holiday as much as I did!
