Good ol’ BFD

If you’re wondering why I haven’t posted any workouts this week, it’s for no other reason than the fact that there were no workouts this week. I really don’t know what has come over me, but I am just not in the mood. I am all for taking breaks once in a while, but I already took almost 2 weeks off around Thanksgiving when I got sick.

I feel even worse because it’s Christmas time and I am eating cookies and chocolate galore. But in the same breath, I am contradicting myself because I am constantly preaching about balance. So, you know what!? If I feel like taking this week off, I am going to. I am also going to enjoy every delicious meal I am offered over the holiday.

I will be staying here for Christmas Eve with Joe’s family and then driving to my mom’s house in Pennsylvania on Christmas day through Monday. Regular workouts will likely be resuming back to normal sometime between tomorrow and Tuesday.

At least I’m keeping my meals up to par!

I made a spinach, tomato, and feta omelet for dinner. Good ol’ BFD (breakfast for dinner, for those who are confused by my acronym (parentheses¬†#2: I had to google “capital letter abbreviation” to find the word ‘acronym’ because I had a brain fart))

I served it with roasted sweet potato circles.

Covered in TJ’s organic ketchup.

Of course, dessert came quickly after. I ate the last lone snickerdoodle and a sprinkle and chocolate covered pretzel from work. Our  vendors always send us candy around Christmas and being that we have a plethora of them, we get lots of it! I took it upon myself to bring some of it home.

I have a half day at work tomorrow and then I am meeting my friend Claire for lunch. She is in from California for the holidays and she just got engaged! :) Then, I will baking, baking, and baking!

Our kitchen table is covered with cookie supplies and wine for Christmas Eve. I can’t believe it’s only 3 days away!

  • Do you give yourself a break from the gym often?
  • How awesome is BFD?
  • Quick: What are some tips for juggling making more than one kind of cookie at a time? I only have one KitchenAid mixer and oven, obviously.

Yay for BFD!! Enjoy your last 1/2 day of work and can’t wait to see what you bake up.
PS- workouts can resume later. Now is the time for Christmas joy!

Don’t feel guilty about the gym. You’ve had a lot going on lately. I know you will get back into it after the holidays. My mother would make pancakes are rare occasions when i was a kid as BFD, and I loved it! Can’t help you with the cookie issue. I guess just make one type, let them cool, and start another. Make those peanut butter ones first in case you run out of time!!!

Yeah I was planning on making the pb ones first since it might take a might to decorate them!

I definitely take a break from workouts, and it is usually this time of year. It takes me (seemingly) forever to adjust to the time change and the colder weather. I usually can get right back in the groove after the hustle and bustle of the holidays!

I’ve been off with my workouts since the weather changed, too! It started in October and went downhill from there, so I’ll be back with the January Joiners! :)

I love BFD – I eat cereal for dinner pretty frequently.

Happy to have found your blog!!

Since it’s Christmas I have let my runs be very relaxed. No pressure. Once New Years is over, I’m ready to kick things into gear!
