Home Sweet Home

I almost skipped the gym this morning, but I came up with a few reasons why I shouldn’t.

  1. I only had a half day of work.
  2. I’ll be consuming massive amounts of food tomorrow.
  3. I want to continue Jamie Eason‘s workout.

I snoozed for an hour though. It’s getting¬†ridiculous. My alarm starts at 4:45 and then Joe’s starts at 6:00 right after I leave. Sometimes I come home from the gym and he’s still snoozing. This is like 7:00 – 7:15, mind you.

Since I was restarting the workouts this week, I re-did last week’s chest and tricep day. I followed up with a 25 minute session on the treadmill that looked very similar to this incline HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout.

After breakfast and showering, I went ahead with my normal commute, only to find myself battling the Justin Bieber crowds from the Today Show.

I elbowed about 3 people and gave a lot of dirty looks and finally arrived at work, late.

Luckily, I was able to leave right at 1:00 and head home to Pennsylvania to my mom’s house! As soon as I arrived, I heated up some chicken and spinach that my mom had leftover. I was starving after a 3 hour car ride, thanks to traffic!

I sprinkled on some parmesan cheese.

I needed some whole grains so I found a whole wheat sandwich thin and smeared on some roasted red pepper hummus. She didn’t have (healthy) butter for garlic bread so it was the next best option.

My mom was at a hair appointment when I got home, so I waited for her to get home before I dug into dessert.

She told me that she stopped to get one at the local bakery this week, knowing that I’d want it. It even had icing. Jackpot!

I resisted going back for a second and decided to park myself on the couch and catch up on blogs on my mom’s iPad while watching The Middle and Modern Family.

….aaaand now I want an iPad. And yes, Lauren, that’s your dinner on my google reader!

Thanksgiving dinner in t-minus 16 hours. Can’t. wait. Of course, I will attempt to get in a quick workout tomorrow morning, but we’ll see how that goes.

  • What’s your favorite Thanksgiving dish? Mine is hand’s down my mom’s stuffing. RIght now it’s in the fridge waiting to be baked tomorrow morning and I am almost tempted to go take a spoonful. But…raw sausage = not a good idea.
