Last night, I got to see the final project. Well, almost. There are kinks here and there that need to be fixed, but for the most part, Joe’s new restuarant is up and ready. It was the first night open for friends and family.
I apologize for the awful pictures in advance. Point and shoots do not work well in dark light, clearly.
The bar was serving a few of the specialty cocktails while complimentary hors d’oeuvres were passed around.
Some of the last minute touches downstairs were the painting and light fixtures which Joe said were literally installed about 10 minutes before opening.
Those flowers are desperately in need of a stand.
And some stair lights might still need to be cleaned. Upstairs was also finished with more animal paintings and a glass fixture with plants inside. I’m still unsure how that is going to survive.
Last but not least, I took a super awful flash photo of the lighting fixture that hangs down to the first floor from above.
That definitely does not do it justice.
After getting home around 11PM and not getting to sleep until midnight, 5AM was not happening this morning. The gym was pretty much out of the question today, especially since I am going right back to the restaurant after work today for another friends and family event. This time, I am bringing a few of my friends.
I slept as late as I could this morning before hopping in the shower, hitting lots of traffic, and excitedly opening my chocolate coconut peanut butter Umpqua Oats!
After adding a packet of stevia, these puppies get an 11 out of 10 in my book. I will most definitely be purchasing this flavor again!
On another note, I feel like I am so behind on google reader and I am usually commenting so much more on other blogs. I have been so busy lately and barely find time to get posts up on my own! Bummer. I can’t wait for a little break over Thanksgiving.
