Alright, it’s November 1st. Everyone get your Christmas decorations out as if Thanksgiving has decided to take a year off. Seriously, I almost died this morning when I encountered this.
This morning was the usual snooze fest followed by about an hour at the gym. I devised a workout in my head for the hour that I snoozed and it worked out pretty well. I started out with some abdominals/core.
- hanging leg raises
- v-ups
- back extensions
I moved onto upper body, focusing on chest, back, and shoulders. To save time, I decided to do biceps and triceps tomorrow.
- lat pull downs
- front and lat raises
- pushups
Repeat 4x as you watch the boot camp class through the glass and wish you had $150 to throw away every four weeks.
Then, I completed a quick HIIT workout on the treadmill.
After that little sweat session, I headed home to shower while simultaneously stuffing breakfast down my throat and still managing to be late for work. Some things will just never change.
Erica from Larabar was nice enough to send me some samples recently after I requested to try the new chocolate chip cherry torte. I was sent a few other flavors that I haven’t been able to try yet, including the blueberry muffin which I happily brought to work today for a mid morning snack.
Thanks Erica!
Institute for Integrative Nutrition
As I mentioned on Sunday, I am enrolled in the IIN program, which started yesterday. A few weeks ago, I recieved a box of goodies in the mail. It included a fully loaded iPod, which is the main source of information since it is a distance learning course.
One of my first tasks is to ask for support during the program. My mom is always super supportive and Joe definitely encouraged me to go for it when I initially was researching it. Besides, for as much as Joe is at work when I’m not, I am sure I can fill that time with studying! I think that asking my readers for support is something I’d like to do. Hopefully, this program won’t cut back on any blog time, but if it does, please understand. You all leave very kind comments and so far have given very positive feedback about my decision to go through with IIN. I am very thankful for that and hope that you will all continue to support me along the way.
Who knows, I might need some test clients!
- When do you bust out the Christmas decor?

Currently sipping on my first red cup of the season-amazing how happy it makes me!!
The IIN seems so interesting and I hope you talk about it on the blog more! Good luck, Jillian!!
I have to fight the urge to take out the Christmas decor earlier, but I have a hard & fast rule of leaving it all in boxes until the Thanksgiving meal is eaten. Tick, tock!
