Monday, once again. I will never get used to Monday mornings. They are always terrible, especially now that the weather has significantly cooled down. Thank god for workout endorphins or I’d be seriously miserable and whiny.
Joe and I spent our Sunday in the city having brunch and picking up some goodies at Jack Rabbit. I bought us matching Camelback water bottles. I love the bite and sip tip and it completely cracked me up when Joe couldn’t figure out for the life of him how to get water out of it.
This morning we woke up together around 5:30 and headed to the gym. I did the usual 30 minute ab workout and busted out 5 miles using the same intervals I did last week. It felt so nice to run in my new kicks.
They are the same ones I bought last time, Brooks Adrenaline GTS 11. They work for me so no changes here! The old ones probably have atleast 400 miles on them considering it was the beginning of April. Which reminds me..
TODAY IS MY BLOG’S 6 MONTH BIRTHDAY!
Now, onto the important stuff.
Let’s rewind a month and talk about my September goals. I hardly looked at the list and to be quite honest I thought I was going to be disappointed realizing that I didn’t accomplish any of the goals I’d set.
Wrong! I was surprised to see how well I really did.
Get a notebook for my posts/blog improvement thoughts/ideas: Sort of, I’ll explain later.
Finish and send off the article I am writing: Check! You can see it here.
Learn to use my Canon EOS Rebel: Fail.
Setup my Facebook account: Check! Like Sprinkle Massacre on Facebook!
Get up earlier for workouts: Check! 5am bootcamp much?
Focus on cross training: Mmm bootcamp conditioning day kind of counts for that, right?
Put together strength training workouts that focus more on each individual muscle and split up strength training between more days: Well, I’m going to use bootcamp again on this one. We definitely focus on specific muscle groups each class and I learned a lot of new exercises that I can incorporate into my personal routine.
Get a daily planner and keep up with it: Check! I also use the back blank pages as a blog notebook. So, that’s my “check” for the above goal.
Try to plan dinners ahead of time for the week so I don’t eat so many smoothie bowls for dinner: Yes! I did so good with this one. I made lots of recipes this month.
Stop getting out of hand with buying new products before finishing up what’s already on hand: Done! I am getting low on nut butters and various kinds of breads. I really focus on what I need for the week by utilizing lists and passing on things that are just appealing but not needed.
Organize my coupons and use them: Check! I successfully spent almost half of what I normally spend at the grocery store the last two weeks. I simply used coupons that I had been sent or cut out and also passed on unnecessary items, as I mentioned above. I also save money and time by using my own bags.
Redeem my credit card points for cash: Finally! I made a trip to my bank to discuss combining my credit card and debit card points. As soon as it goes through I’m redeeming that $160 for cash.
Buy practical things for fall (ie. boots, a new outerwear peice): Check! Um, hello!?
Utilize off-price deals and other stores (ie. Rue La La, Gilt, Zara, Urban Outfitters) instead of using my discount (luxury goods are still expensive, even when they are marked down!): Mmm, not so much. But, I guess it’s good that I didn’t spend additional money.
Some exciting things that happened in September:
I need to brainstorm and write down my goals for October this week. I’m liking this feeling of accomplishment!
