Today was my first road race! I signed up for the Fitness Magazine Mind Body + Spirit Games 4 miler about a month ago. I can’t believe how fast it came and went. Now I am completely addicted and will probably be registering for the Rock n Roll Brooklyn 10K with Ashley.
Caitlin and I were both in the second coral, but it still tool a while to get moving because there were about 2,570 women participants!
The first mile went so fast for me. The second mile didn’t pass as quickly and my Spibelt was moving around. I had to pee during the third mile, which slowed me down. Yeah, I grabbed a coffee on my way to Central Park. I was able to speed up a bit during mile four and finished officially at 33:09, which is an 8:18 pace. I’m very happy with it! Overall, I finished 520th out of 2,570 and 157/644 in my age bracket.
Caitlin and I grabbed a quick picture afterwards while I was chomping down a free apple!
I headed over to the bag check to grab my stuff and eventually met back up with Ashley. We walked around for a while until deciding to head on over to Starbucks for some coffee and chit chat. We ended up talking for almost 2 hours! I’m so glad we got a chance to hang out and am super excited for next week. She also pretty much convinced me to run the Brooklyn 10K with her on October 22nd.
After running and talking and only having coffee, I had quite the appetite. Joe was working at the restaurant today so I stopped by on my way home. I ended up having brunch. I ordered an egg white omelet with tomato, onion, pepper, and fontina cheese with a mustard sauce on top. I subbed out the ham for tomatoes. I wasn’t in a meaty mood! It also comes with breakfast potatoes. You know I finished the entire plate!
I stayed for a bit but needed to head out to finish some errands. I stopped at the grocery store for some much needed re-stocking.
I also put together something to take for lunch next week. I’ll update you on that next week!
Last but not least, I baked up a little somethin’ somethin’. I’m waiting for them to cool now so I can ice them.
Hint: I now have more empty peanut butter jars for overnight oats in a jar.
You’ll have to wait and see!
