New Product Rant

It’s always hard going back to work after a weekend away. Especially when it’s been raining for two days straight and summer is coming to an end. I went home to see my mom and grandfather Saturday morning and got back around 6:00 last night. I’ll be away next weekend too at the Healthy Living Summit. I can’t believe it’s here already!

Thankfully, Joe decided to get up with me this morning which allows for about 1 extra snooze on the alarm. Hey, every minute counts!

We got to the gym around 5:45 and both completed 30 minutes of abs. I did a 35 minute treadmil HIIT workout, similar to this one. I just modified it a little to make it shorter.

I finished up with 10 minutes on the bike because my hip was a little tight. I definitely feel like my hips bother me when it rains! It’s true what they say. Does that happen to anyone else who’s had surgery?

I made a shake with ice, frozen banana and strawberry  pieces, almond milk, About Time birthday cake protein powder, spinach, and flaxmeal. I took it to go!

Check out those curtains! Joe and I finally put them up. I can finally walk in the kitchen naked at night and not feel like someone’s watching me. Joy.

So, after grocery shopping about 3 times in the past week, I realized I have a serious problem. I feel the urge to buy every new product that comes out. Being that I read a lot of blogs and sign up for email newsletters regarding food products, I am constantly being exposed to new items. I’m every food marketers target. I’m a sucker!

For instance, why do I have this many nut butters?

..and still feel the need to add this little guy to the clan?

And why did I buy 2 packs of these…

When I still have other bread resources to use up (I forgot to photograph my unfinished pack of La Tortilla Factory wraps from last week).

Well, alright, Flatout products were buy one get one free. Can you blame me? Plus, I already have a million ideas, one of which I already tested out.

I also bought these Adora disks after seeing them on many blogs.

I get to eat chocolate and get in my daily calcium? Sure, why not?

Lastly, I have seen these Fiber One brownies for a few weeks and resisted the urge but finally broke down.

I’d say that I don’t need them because I have my Vitamuffins and Kashi bars for my fiber filled mid morning snack, but let’s be honest. We all know these are going to be crumbled right on top of a smoothie bowl.

But really, I still haven’t finished the box of Van’s Muffin Crowns that I had to test out!

Any new products you think I need to get my hands on? I still want to try:

Do we see a pattern here?

What did you top the Flatout with? Are they thin like tortilla wraps, or more like the 100 calorie sandwich thins? Also are the Fiber One brownies good? I looked for them where I live, but can’t find them yet. I guess they will be in the protein bar/ granola aisle when they do arrive here.

I put the tuna sauce that I posted last week, asiago cheese, and kale! They are thin like tortilla wraps but a little fluffier. Only 90 calories and they wrap around lunch meat well. Fiber one brownies are SO good..they have peanut butter too. They would be near the cereal bars.
