This past weekend, my friends Carrie & Mike got married at the Greenville Country Club in Wilmington Delware. The rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception all went smoothly and everything turned out beautifully. Here is a picture-filled recap!
As soon as we arrived at Hotel DuPont on Friday…
Kristina and Irushed to get ready for the rehearsal.
After rehearsing at the country club, we had a rehearsal dinner at Buckley’s Tavern. The menu choices were limited for the large party, but the food was pretty good. I chose the cesear salad, the tuna, and the chocolate whiskey cake.
I also tried an amazing new beer called Banana Bread! As soon as I spotted that on the menu I ordered it right up!
I also had a feewwww glasses of Sangria!
Carrie also gave us our bridesmaids gifts which included earrings, bangles, a purse and flip flops for the reception!
Saturday morning, I woke up early for a quick upper body workout and a 2 mile run. It wasn’t bad for a hotel gym!
We headed to the bride’s mother’s house around 9AM. We all got ready together and helped Carrie slip into dress.
The limo picked us up around 1:30 and we headed to the country club.We arrived and went up the bridal suite while Carrie and Michael took pictures together outside before she headed back up.
Guests started arriving around 4:45 and we lined up for the ceremony that began at 5:30.
I was super nervous about walking down the stone path in my heels, but I didn’t trip!
Carrie was a beautiful bride and the ceremony was very tear-jerking with a few speeches.
After the ceremony was a cocktail hour. We had to take some pictures with the bridal party first, but then we all headed over to enjoy drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres. After mingling for a while, we were called inside to the dinner tables.
The bride and groom were announced and we all joined in after their first dance.
We took some pictures out in the field of the country club while the sun was setting.
Joe and I both chose the filet mignon and crab cake for dinner. It was delicious!
Carrie and Michael cut the cake not long after dinner.
Dessert consisted of cake (red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla with raspberry filling) as well as some other small goodies.
Then it was time for a dance party that went on for the remainder of the night! Obviously, lots of shoes came off.
After things wrapped up, we all got on the bus to head back to the hotel. After lots of drinks, my friend Sue, Joe, and I decided to have take some funny photos. This one is probably my favorite. It was definitely not planned either.
Overall, a beautiful wedding and perfect weather! Congratulations Carrie & Michael!
